A Little Studio Update (and a tiny Secret)

I have a secret.

Well… sort of 🫣

Two years ago, I was approached to work on a very large art project that involves 49 other artists from all across the globe. This one project has traveled to different parts of the world, including the far reaches of Australia, and pretty soon, it’ll be at my doorstep ready for me to add my work to it.

Unfortunately, I can’t share the full details quite yet (trust me, the suspense is killing me too), but I can tell you that we’re getting closer to the finish line.

In another month or two, I should finally be able to pull back the curtain and show you what I’ve been working on. Until then, here’s a little sneak peek from the table.

Recently, I came across an article discussing the emotional power of art and how our environments shape the way we feel. One idea especially stuck with me: art isn’t an afterthought in a space—it helps create the emotional experience of being there.

The article even cites several studies that show a positive correlation between hormones and art, like how cortisone levels fell by an average of 22% for in-person viewers of art compared to 8% for the group looking at reproductions. And when you think about it, that’s true, isn’t it?

A room can have beautiful furniture, perfect lighting, and all the right finishes, yet still feel devoid of life.

Art is often the piece that makes a space feel alive with personality. It can make us pause and remind us of who we are as people. It can bring comfort after a difficult day, spark joy on an ordinary Tuesday, or simply create a moment of beauty when we need it most.

As someone who spends her days mostly covered in paint and glue, I sometimes forget that the paintings I create don’t end their journey when they leave my studio. They become part of people’s everyday lives. They quietly hang on walls while life unfolds around them.

That’s a privilege I don’t take lightly. So while I’m keeping this secret project under wraps for just a little longer, it’s also serving as a reminder of something I deeply believe: Art isn’t a luxury reserved for special occasions.

It’s a highlight of the human experience – and fills our lives (and walls) with deep purpose and kinship. I’ll share more soon.

Until then, thank you for being here and following along on this wonderfully messy creative journey.
