Somewhere along the way, many of us learn to make ourselves smaller…

…as a way to be easier, less complicated, and tuck away the things that make us different so we can fit neatly into the boxes others have made for us.

But underneath all of that is a part of you that has never stopped being wild.

A part that likes to play, feels deeply, dreams wildly, and doesn’t need permission to be exactly who she is.

To remember that you can be soft and powerful. Vulnerable and feral. A little chaotic and absolutely magnificent.

You don’t have to earn your place in this world by becoming someone else.

You were already worthy of taking up space.

Where the Ocean Meets the Human Spirit

When I first imagined Ocean Spirit, I was drawn to the ocean for its color, movement, and untamed power.

There’s something about the sea that refuses to be contained. It ebbs and flows, crashes and retreats. It’s wild, unpredictable, sometimes gentle and sometimes fierce. It holds so much power and beauty in the same breath.

I wanted to capture that feeling within the human form.

Because the more I thought about it, the more I realized how much we have in common with the ocean. We have depths we don’t always show the world. We carry both softness and strength. And no matter how hard we try to keep everything neat and tidy, there’s a whole lot happening beneath the surface.

And then… there was the sunset.

I felt drawn to the bright vivid colors of sunsets – so much so I couldn’t quite get them out of my head. And when something sticks in my brain, the only way it’ll come out is if I paint it haha!

But as I worked on the paintings, I began to see something more.

A sunset marks the closing of a day. A chance to release what has happened, let go of what we cannot change, and settle into the simple act of just being – without fixing, striving or figuring out what comes next.

The ocean and the sunset are more than just beautiful imagery. They are a reminder of the freedom to be powerful without hardening ourselves. To be soft without losing our strength. To stop trying so damn hard to become who we think we’re supposed to be.

And to remember that there is beauty in who we already are.

Each painting in Ocean Spirit explores the meeting of the human spirit and the natural world—a reminder of the strength, beauty, and freedom that exist within us.

Created in oil, each original carries its own movement, color, and energy. These are paintings to live with. To return to. To discover something new in as the light changes and life unfolds. And perhaps, on the days when you need it most, to remind you of who you are.

You’re not too much. You are YOU

Ocean Spirit is my love letter to the wild, untamed spirit we’re born with.

Vast. Colorful. Full of possibility.

But somewhere along the way, we’re taught to quiet ourselves. To step aside and let others shine. To hide the parts of us that might be a little too loud, too different, too much.

And we start to believe that being loved means being easier to love. That being accepted means fitting in.

That being worthy means constantly working to become a better, more polished, more acceptable version of ourselves.

But what if we stopped trying so hard?

What if we let ourselves be the uniquely weird, wonderfully complicated humans we are?

What if we embraced our wildness instead of hiding it or let our colors shine without worrying if anyone else would like it? Because we’re not here to be a watered-down version of ourselves.

We are beauty. We are vastness. We are a gorgeous freaking sunset spilling across powerful ocean waves.

A little something extra, just for you.

When you bring an original Ocean Spirit painting home, I’ll include a complimentary museum-quality archival print from the collection.

Think of it as a little companion to your original—a piece of the ocean’s color, movement, and wild spirit to enjoy in another corner of your home, or to gift to someone who could use a reminder of their own magic.
