My Inspiration….
I’ve been walking a lot more now that summer’s simmered down, which means I no longer emerge from the outdoors looking like I’ve gone ten rounds with a fire hose. It’s glorious! On these walks, I turn my brain off and just vibe with the flora and fauna. The breeze does its thing, gently reminding me what it’s like to not melt, while the leaves and bugs sway in rhythm. Honestly, it’s like nature’s version of a dance party—minus the sweaty bras and body glitter.
On one such walk, I noticed a bumblebee hovering its rotund body over a flower attempting to find a landing spot for its nectar collection. As it buzzed and flitted about, I found myself smiling at it, reminding me of a great dane looking for a human lap to sit on. #Mad respect.
Bumblebees are gentle reminders that joy can be found even in the midst of life’s hustle and bustle. With their fuzzy bodies and clumsy grace, they bumble from flower to flower, turning work into a quiet, rhythmic dance. As they gather nectar, they teach us that even in our busiest moments, there’s sweetness to be discovered and simple pleasures to be embraced.
I’ve been so inspired that I pulled out some canvases, swirled some paint around, and started painting little bumblebees of my own – deep in their work and looking cute while doing so. I started with one and before I knew it, I had 4 done and 2 on its way to completion.
