We are all walking stories
Share
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we’re all walking collections of stories.
Little moments, big chapters, quiet memories, messy emotions. They stack up, layer after layer, shaping us into who we are—not perfect, but beautifully human.
...and as a mom of two trying to juggle the messiness of creativity with the chaos of raising two littles, I felt this DEEPLY on the daily.
That’s what inspired my newest painting series, The Stories We Live.
Each piece in this collection began with collage—fragments, textures, and found bits I carefully chose to echo the richness of lived experience. Some were torn. Some didn’t quite fit at first. But as I layered paint over them, these mismatched pieces started to make sense—just like life does, eventually.
There were moments I had to sand it all down and start again (which totally happened to the Trust Your Self painting haha!). There were unexpected bursts of color, places I had to trust my intuition, and plenty of times where I didn’t know where the painting was going.
Sound familiar?
My hope is that when you see these paintings, you see yourself—not in the details, but in the feeling. The strength it takes to be soft. The beauty in imperfection. The way every story you’ve lived is part of something meaningful.
If that speaks to you, I’d love for you to explore the collection:
